Essiac Blend - Botanical Tea Bags

Essiac Tea is a blend of four traditional herbs (burdock root, sheep sorrel, slippery elm bark, rhubarb root) that has been used to promote overall health. These potent herbs have an earthy taste and are used to make teas and tinctures. Essiac tea can be traced back to the Ojibwa tribe of Canada, but was popularized and brought into homes by a nurse named Rene Caisse in the 1920s.

This famous herbal blend has high flavonoid and polyphenol content; these antioxidants may help the body to defend itself from oxidative stressors. While Essiac is often purported as a health tonic for specific conditions, we suggest using this classic tea for overall wellness support.

Violet T. ★★★★★

The burdock root and sheep sorrel come through nicely without being bitter, and the slippery elm bark gives it a smooth, almost creamy mouthfeel. I've been sipping a cup each morning for a week now and it settles my stomach better than any other herbal tea I've tried.

Hazel ★★★★★

I was a little nervous about the taste of burdock root, but the slippery elm makes the tea surprisingly smooth and mild. The bags are sturdy and don't burst open when I steep them in my big mug.

Stella U. ★★★★★

The tea bags steep into a dark, earthy brew that’s surprisingly smooth, and the burdock root really comes through without being bitter. I’ve been sipping one each evening for a week now, and the four-herb blend feels like a gentle, grounding ritual that’s easy to stick with.
